What makes us special?

At Sticky Fingers Tiny School we provide high quality childcare giving babies and children a rich and exciting start to their lives in a friendly and secure environment.

We are registered with Ofsted and care for up to twenty six children under the age of five years old and additional older children (out of school care). We build relationships with parents/ carers and children ensuring that each parent's wishes for their child are met. Every child receives lots of care and detailed attention to suit their individual needs and they are also able to develop socially and make friends with other children.

'Staff welcome children warmly supporting their emotional wellbeing effectively'

(Ofsted, March 2018).

'The daily activities help the children express their creativity they are always making, painting, sticking and creating'. My child is pleased with what he produces and understands what they are for instance he made a Walrus last week and through this understands what it is whilst at the same time he is proud of his creation'.

'I am delighted at the care my child receives at Sticky Fingers, she really enjoys coming, we are very lucky to have found such a wonderful, caring environment for our child'.

(A parent of a 1½-year-old child).

Communication between 'Home' and 'Sticky Fingers'

We  talk to you about what your child has been doing and enjoy hearing about what your child has been doing at home in the evening and over the weekend, including what his or her current interests are, together with any health or wellbeing issues etc. We use Tapestry an interactive learning journal to share information about your child's progress, development and enjoyment, 'it becomes a little treasure of memories'.

Snacks are provided: mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Lunch (mid-day) is fresh and nutritious consisting of two courses. Meals are planned considering the government's recommendation of seven portions of fruit and vegetables. The children's home grown produce from our allotment is included in the meals and the children often take part in helping to prepare meals which they enjoy. Breakfast is available at parent's request and for children needing tea (late afternoon) we ask parents to provide this.

We adhere to policies, which ensure that we provide a stable service. These policies also inform parents of procedures and rules which are required by OFSTED. These are available to view on request.

An appointment is made for parents or carers to meet us before booking a place. Taster sessions are booked prior to the child attending, to help them settle and for us to get to know you and your child.

We offer *funding for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds (*terms and conditions apply). We also accept Childcare Vouchers.

Open: Monday to Friday from 8.00am - 6.00pm.
